Dog owners will know the routines that our pets add to our days.

Bosley (our Hungarian puli) is 12 1/2 now and has been very poorly. Today he is fine; happy to go out and read the newspaper of doggy trails in the neighbourhood. On Saturday he went to the park and the German Shepherds he met were friendly. He ran about and smelled the daffodils and would have liked to stay a while at the shop that sells cups of tea and bacon butties - as would I! - but there was a routine to be kept - and so we did not stay to chat with other dog owners.

Thinking back on it I must have seemed unsociable. Others often remark on Bosley’s curious rastofarian curls. Some even think we put them into his coat ourselves! This way little conversations start up. It is an opportunity to talk about dogs - and things more important.

I regret not taking the opportunity to speak. I was just not feeling sociable…

Next time I will try harder. If you see us be sure to introduce yourselves.
